3.000 years of industrial culture in Lusatia

Lusatian association of lignite archeology

As part of the ‘3.000 years of industrial culture in Lusatia – the future of the past’ the INIK GmbH has developed a regional network with the participation of the Brandenburg State Office of Monument Preservation, which connects all Lusatian actors of lignite archeology.
With ‘3.000 Years of Lusatian Industrial Culture’ a cross-county association has been created which bundles the existing resources of Lusatian lignite archeology with a supra-regional charisma to strengthen its identity. The ATZ Welzow, the Slavic Castle Raddusch and the archeological collection of the City Museum Cottbus ‘Archeological Collection Cottbus’ will be visibly consolidated well beyond the year 2038.
The project is part of the funding program ‘Ideas Competition for Cultural Homeland Lusatia’ by the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture of the State of Brandenburg, which is financed with the federal government’s immediate program in favor of structural change in the lignite regions.
