To respond to the increasing demand in fire and civil protection facilities in the State of Brandenburg the County of Dahme-Spreewald started to construct a new building at the Southwestern rim of the City of Luckau. As a result of an architectural competition (highest award, design by Stefan Blasius and Christian Schömberg) the INIK GmbH was commissioned to complete the project. In the framework of the project the historic and natural context of the City of Luckau and the existing monuments in the surroundings (Luckau is part of the group “Städte mit historischem Stadtkern”) were crucial. In addition it was important to respect the current local building codes for architectural design.
