The survey commissioned by the Federal Republic of Germany concentrated on the establishment of new market halls to promote regional products in Eastern Germany. The Institute of New Industrial Culture in cooperation with Isoplan Berlin / Saarbrücken responsible for the project management developed two market hall projects both located in the State of Brandenburg: Eberswalde and Forst (Lausitz). Project partners on the local level were the city municipalities, the producers of regional goods and NGOs working in the field of regional economy. Project coordinator was the Fededral Ministery of the Interior, departmet "Demographic Change" of the „Arbeitsstab Angelegenheiten der Neuen Bundesländer".
