The City of Luckenwalde is a jewel of architecture and urban planning of the Weimar Period between 1918 and 1933. This is especially true when it comes to the reform architecture of residential areas. In the framework of the INIK project we started with a preparatory examination and create an urban master plan for the “Auf dem Sande” neighborhood. The buildings were mostly designed by the architects Josef Bischof, Hans Graf and Bruno Langkeit. The project work was based on an intensive cooperation with the “Bundestransferstelle Städtebaulicher Denkmalschutz” and the preservation department of the State of Brandenburg.
