The House Schminke in Löbau
Re-use concept for the monument of classical Modernism

The country house Schminke by Hans Scharoun was built during the years 1930-1933. Today it is worldwide known and remarkable example of private housing development in the 20th century. An indication of the importance of the building for the international history of architecture gives not only the Hans Scharoun’s Vitae but also the impact that the building has made on the generations of architects. Within the framework of this study INIK elaborated the concept of the future use for the House Schminke that is incorporated in the local framework in Löbau and the international significance of the building.
