Information and Documentation Center Borna
Resettlement process will be presented

The Leipzig Neuseenland is already a successful tourist attraction in Saxony. The two gates in Markham and Borna are at the same time important information centers. In this context, the thematic focus of the South Gate in Borna is besides general information about landscape change, the mining-induced loss of home and the archaeological discoveries in the mining area. Because of the relocation of the church in Heuersdorfer (image: Mario Graul / Archiv Naturkundemuseum Leipzig), the town of Borna is now associated with international mining-induced resettlement processes and the dealing with the historical remains of destroyed villages. The aim of the Institute of New Industrial Culture was to use the nationally known relocation of the church as a strategic starting point of the planned feasibility study for an information and documentation center.
