The aim of the project was to support the modell region of “Lausitzer Neißeland” as part of the federal research project “Building Culture and Tourism – Cooperation in the Region”. First the project started by identifying and understanding the perception of regional building culture and to link it to the regional consciousness of the citizens. Later the regional building culture were applied in tourism and regional marketing. As an output building culture were used as a product in tourism to foster the image of the region. Main issues of the INIK action within the overall project were “industrial historic sites” plus “modern movement buildings”.
