Within the framework of two EU-projects on the sustainable development of industrial landscapes in Europe „REKULA” and “SHIFT-X”, as an associate partner the INIK GmbH has developed strategic planning tools for re-use of historic industrial buildings. Lead Partners of the project were the International Building Exhibition (IBA) in Lusatia and the district Zwickau. Other participating countries were besides Germany (TU Freiberg, Bergbautourismusverein Welzow ), and Belgium (STEBO), Italy (Benetton Foundation, Veneto Region), Austria (Graz University, Styrian Iron Road), Czech Republic (Microregion Sokolov) and Poland (a.o. Politechnika Śląska, Municipality of Bydgoszcz).
