INIK strategy:
The process of industrialization affected significantly the city of Cottbus. Today the municipality of Cottbus is going to strengthen the connections between the city life and old as well as new industrial locations. INIK suggests establishment of advisory board „Industrial Culture Cottbus“.

Background:
The general conditions for valorization of old industrial areas and buildings are good in Cottbus. Over the past years the municipality of Cottbus has implemented many revitalization projects fort he old factories and contributed to the public awareness and acceptance of the industrial culture. In this context very important is the engagement of private investors, which significantly contributed to the revitalization of the old industrial areas. On the other hand not sufficient is the cooperation with the companies. Their support could make possible that serious discussion about Cottbus as industrial site take place. The engagement of the advisory board for preservation of historical monuments was crucial for the issue of industrial culture in Cottbus in recent years.
