F.02

INIK strategy:
The strategy proposes the development of the Museum of Technique and Industry and the mining shaft „Lisia Sztolnia“ as the place of the industrial adventure, which will be connected with the tourist offer of the Lower Silesia region, the castle Książ and the city of Wałbrzych.

Background:
The Museum of Technique and Industry is located in in the picturesque valley in Sudety Mountains within spitting distance of the city center of Wałbrzych. Already at the end of 18th century were offered boat trips in the gallery. The till today maintained Fuchs gallery is the oldest navigable coal-mining tunnel on the European Continent. 1996 was the colliery closed and gradually adapted into the Museum of Technique and Industry Numerous international conferences and publications succeeded. The municipality of Wałbrzych and Politechnika Wrocławska initiated the establishment of the museum. In the future the municipality of Wałbrzych is going to retract the public subsidies for the museum, to convert the museum and to develop gradually self supporting structures.
