INIK Strategy:
In order to reuse a factory building that has been vacant for years, this project will take an experimental approach. The strategy aims at finding a group of future users from the surrounding towns with an academically creative background. An economically feasible use will be found in the sense of "controlled squatting." The users will act, so to speak, as "space pioneers," developing the site through their initiative. Suitable and feasible combinations of use or users will not be prescribed. Over time, such patterns of combinations will be established automatically through the process-like and experimental nature of this project.

Background:
The economically tense situation in the town of Forst, its peripheral location within Germany and the surplus of living and commercial space diminish the chances for a successful change of use oriented merely to profit.
