INIK Strategy:
The concept aims at the sustainable renovation of the connection between working and living, which is apparent in Nowa Sól. This will be realized exemplarily in the ODRA housing project in order to enhance the city’s historical identity and urban quality. The plan is to found a round table discussion, the conclusions of which will be integrated into a master plan.

Background:
Between 1860 and 1970, apartment buildings and buildings with social functions for the workers of the mill were built in the immediate vicinity of ODRA Thread Factory. These buildings testify to the company’s long tradition of constructing houses as a special commitment to its employees before and after 1945.
Today, a majority of the former workers continues to live in the apartments built by the company. The former industrialist villa in the center of a park is currently in public use, as are some individual buildings.
